MEDITERRANEAN ENVIRONMENT AND LIFESTYLE

Our design concept revolves around seamlessly integrating the residential complex into the natural terrain. We envision a series of structures that follow the contours of the mountains, creating a harmonious interaction between the built and natural environments. The use of local materials, such as stone and wood, ensures that the architecture blends perfectly with the regional aesthetic.
The design aims for maximum landscape integration, avoiding buildings that excessively dominate the hillside, avoiding large excavations or embankments, and without introducing vehicular roads. Most of the plot is covered by green areas, especially preserving sensitive areas like the rainwater runoff basins. Although the stand-alone restaurant is located in this area, significant alterations to the natural terrain are avoided. To mitigate visual impact, the buildings are terraced by levels, incorporating partially covered terraces on the fronts of the residences. The slab fronts feature tight curves that organize the composition of the blocks, while open pergolas at strategic points on the plot add a vertical and volumetric counterpoint to the linearity of the fronts.

PROJECT COMPOSITION

The project is located in the Alcuzcuz Reserve and consists of several building blocks that adapt through terracing to the slopes of the terrain. It includes five buildings, four dedicated to apartments and one housing a restaurant linked to the complex. Below ground level, there are integrated services for guests such as gyms, wellness areas, an indoor pool, workspaces, and kitchens, along with two restaurants, one underground and one on the surface. The general reception area is strategically located next to the access roundabout. In the garden areas, which are pedestrian-friendly, there are two outdoor pools.

The blocks are arranged linearly, adapting to the slope and describing changes in direction on the façades according to the terrain’s guidelines. This arrangement not only limits the visual impact compared to separate blocks but also increases efficiency by reducing earth movement.

Despite its apparent complexity, the buildings have a simple composition with a single alignment of units per floor distributed in a comb shape from the corridor. Two of the blocks have duplex residences on the upper floors and penthouses accessible from the lower floor, while the remaining blocks consist of three floors plus penthouses. All units face the hillside and have terraces spanning the entire façade, adapting to the curvature of the main planes. These terrace overhangs also provide solar protection, benefiting from their south and southwest orientation.

SPACES THAT EVOKE EMOTIONS

The design of the residential units maximizes exposure to panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea while providing a sense of privacy and tranquility. Large, strategically placed windows invite the surrounding landscape into the living spaces, fostering a connection with nature. The terraces become extensions of the interior, offering residents the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of Marbella’s unique surroundings.

The exploration of a sensory atmosphere, the creation of spaces that evoke emotions, and the direct connection with nature are the fundamental pillars of this project. This design goal, with an aesthetic carefully linked to the natural environment, seeks to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The focus is on respecting and preserving the environment, generating the perception of being immersed in a continuous relationship with nature.

The project not only seeks visual excellence but also aspires to be a model of evolution based on sustainability and innovation. For this, the use of BIM and artificial intelligence was essential to work simultaneously and optimize the connection between architectural detail and aesthetic refinement.

The architectural forms and lines organically adapt to the landscape, respecting the natural topography and creating a unique visual and sensory experience. This constant reminder reinforces the project’s connection to its surroundings.
